Case Study: Asili

IDEO was hired in 2013 by the American Refugee Committee to help create the blueprint for a business that would bring essential services to the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. An IDEO team headed to Bakavu, an eastern city in the DRC, where they utilized human-centered design techniques to work with the locals in order to truly understand their needs. Through this process, Asili was born.
